Joining the theives guild

Post by Darkrob »

Upon trying to join the theives guild, I was instructed to deliver a letter to moroim(?), the black marketeer in the forest, and convince him to join or kill him and return with proof of his death. 4 times I have killed him, each time his head drops but no Rapier, the item the guildmistress keeps demanding (I'm only a 4th level rogue at this point so these fights are costing me big time in gold and exp). I know this is the right person as he always reacts to being given the letter I was supplied with. Is this a bug? I know this is the right person, his name is on the letter, he reacts when given the letter, the people around him talk about his 'rapier', yet all I ever get is his head. Could someone tell me what I am supposed to do at this point? :?

you return with the head from the halfling, the rapier is a different quest, have you got some plot items that someone has given you, they may be triggering the wrong responses?
We'll see you soon........

No plot item that I'm aware of. This was the letter that she gave me. I don't understand it. If it is the rapier I need, Where would I get it. Do these quests run together or something?

The head should be all you need for that quest. They don't run together, but they are linear from one to the other. What the G'Elle was referring to is it's likely you have another item that is used to trigger another quest that someone gave to you or left lying about and you inadvertantly picked it up. Such as, the darkwind idol (an example of a quest trigger item, but not necessarily the one causing this problem). Try putting all non-standard items you have in a bad or something, and asking a friend to hold them for you and try tunring the head in again. If this works, it was something you had in your inventory. If not, let me know.

I hope this doesn't post twice. I tried to post and your forum crashed so I'm trying again. I had the beach house key. It interfered with my quest. Being a theif, and, hopefully, a future assassin, I collect things like keys. Will pay closer attention in the future. Thanks for your help. Everything is cleared up now.
