Guilt of Galdern

Post by Galdern »

((OOC During a Server thing the deer in one place where just Deer and not a resource for Tanning etc, now to Galdern Hunting is fine, but he has to make use of the body, so he killed without purpose. I decided that this would be a traumatic experiance for him so here it is. This is I admit a very rough draft, but I wanted to see what people thought. It's my first real attempt at writing a Tale, so tell me what you think, be as nasty as you like. I also will apologise in advance for the spelling))

The Surge of pure adrenlin filled him as he ran with his Companion, the scent of his prey in the air, filling him, so near soon he would taste the blood in his Mouth as his teeth clashed around it's Throat bringing it down. Soon he and his friend would feast on the flesh of the Deer, the hunt was nearly over his prey was insight.

It had been a long chase, they had followed the spores from the Village into the wilderness, they had smelt the Deer on the winds, now there it was in front of him, the rational Elven part of him was already seizing it up for the Leather he would gain to work with, was deciding how to use that leather best. The Pack instinct in him was tasting the Flesh, it was a perfect moment for him, no worries, the threat of the Variantes, and other darker forces a distant concern he was one with the natural order, Predator chasing Prey.

The kill was taken cleanly and they began to feed on the Corpse, slowly as the needs of the hunt faded Galdern shifted back the hunt finished the prey taken he looked upon the Corpse of the young deer and knew sorrow, it was too young too fresh the Leather useless to him, the Flesh beyond what they had already fed upon useless, he had taken too soon, had been caught up too much in the chase, and he raged at himself.

Silently he stood for long moments looking upon his sin and cried bitter silent tears before gathering the body up in his arms and walking away with it, into the forests, he would seek now redemption, and so he would awhile without his Companion, hunt larger Prey, on his own, Prey that hunted him in return, and would only return when he had redeemed himself, when his hunt had almost killed him.

The Journey was long and the path rough on him, in the end he fought his way back into the Village fromm his road to redemption still he felt unclean but he felt once more worthy of his friend, perhaps life would present him a chance to truely make amends.
