Okay looking over my post again things have been added and changed on the server but it was a bit of a dissapointment that like 1 thing changed over the period of 6 months.

I have seen a lot of things change in Dasaria in the last six months. Just because one spell has been nerfed in the last six months, that does not mean it's the only change that occured. New areas have been added, new quests were created and new itmes were added to the loot pool. In addition, this is an old game, and the Jeh (and crew) do all of this on THEIR time and out of THEIR own pocket. Give them a little credit!

Before mages begin to put Wyvern up on stakes, that decision was made by the DM team and players...

It was a spell that had become far too powerful, and by players own admission they could walk to Raven Watch and back, kill Raven solo, wipe out Crusaders by the dozen...and not take damage. Then start adding powerbuild behind it...well here we are. Lets not even get the topic flowing as to what happened in PvP with it.

The spell needed to be changed. You have said your piece about it, and everyone knows the opinions. But it isnt being changed back. If that ruins your idea of fun, I am sorry.

Back to the original subject, personally, my mage doesn't shapechange, and my druids are not high enough level to do so with that spell.. nor do I have the build mentioned. However--I do sympathize, Redder. I know the characters you're talking about, and I'm sorry you feel you can't play them anymore, and I hope you change your mind. I really do. It would be a shame to lose the magic of those characters.

As for the tangent, changes on the server, that has seemed to have developed.. I believe we have another subject in which changes can be suggested. Crimson, if you have suggestions, perhaps you can post them there? I'm positive the DM's would love to look at them.

Crimson, you're whining.

I'm pointing this out not to be a jerk but so that you will be aware.

Two things.

One: "Seems the server continues to nerf the hell out of sh*$ " In this context, "continues" may be a bit strong of a word. We have nerfed basically one thing in 6 months, bringing the grand total up to around 12 or so.

Two: Every time we make even the smallest balance adjustment we catch living hell for it. You are whining about how there is no balance, and then when we make a change to SS to correct that, you whine about that also.

I don't mind criticism of course but this "damned if you do/don't" is not criticism, it is whining. If you have a suggestion, lets hear it. Anyway, I'm not mad I'm just calling it to your attention.

Please allow me to expand on the above comment.

Wizards and Sorc's that use the Polymorph spell are nowhere near the powerlevel of a Druid.

Iron Golem + Arcane buffs + damage returns (Acid Sheath, death armor, elemental shield) = win. And since the wizard/sorcerer is undoubtedly hasted, they can chase down and smack anyone who tries to keep the fight at range. Another case of "Oh, you didn't bring along someone who can cast a dispel that'll actually affect me. You lose!"

That said...shapeshift itself isn't the issue. It's the powerbuilds or arcane buffs+golem combined with low-magic setting that break the spell. Even "just" using it with Trace...you're damn near invincible when you're an iron golem with a full wizard buff set on. But the choice is to either make a change that effects everyone who plays, make a change specifically to screw a particular build (such as making it so somehow shapeshifting removes monk abilities), or to cut down the duration of shapeshift. Reducing the duration is the least disruptive and also the least "I'm obliterating your build because it's broken".

It illustrates a fundamental aspect of online gaming: if you find a win button and lean on it way too much, expect the DMs to break the button.

The spell was not messed up when there were +5 weapons. +5 weapons cut through.

The spell just doesn't work with the +3 cap Dasaria is still having.

Before you start spouting unfounded %^&$#@%$ like this Crimson, ask yourself why the hell the likes of me should even bother anymore.

Perhaps I just like to screw people over, that must be it.

When the server is losing people... New things wanted to be added.. were there no? When classes were unbalanced were there things ever added to help the server out. Dont tell me the server balanced because its not dont tell me no one gave suggestions to improve the server no. And cmon Wyvern im not only blaiming you because your one person. But if you want the server to be reconized and get more players stay up dated with the rest of the servers (Though im not saying to change becuase.. as i said before.. If I dont like it.. I could just leave.) Find dm's that know what there doing.. Damnit that kinda sounds as if im putting you down but im not trying to because no one knows every single thing.. and one man can not improve the server and expect the whole thing to go fine. Find dm's that can be used to give a more living feel to Dasaria.. Im just frustarted that the servers going down the hole with the new games coming out and how boring nwn is getting.. Thats why were losing so many people and thats why not many come to play anymore...

Crimson, honestly, you are taking a step or two too far. I don't know many servers where the leading DM team is so involved in the community and hearing what their players have to say as the DMs here on Dasaria.
Wyvern has devoted more time than I think we can imagine to make this server attractive for everyone, all the DMs have.
Remember that Paladins got the special ability of detecting evil? Remember that the XP system changed so that summons and the likes wouldn't eat up your XP? That's helping the server to become better.

You are burned out, Crimson, and it's unfair of you to lash out at the people who devote all their free time in this server. They don't have to, they choose to. Because of you, the players.

Now you are definitely drawing the line. "Find DM's that know what they are doing" ?! That is going too far. We've got some of the best DMs there are here at Dasaria. They could be going to an amusement park, playing a board game, or doing something with their family. But instead they improve the server. They take time out of their day to make entertainment for us. And they don't even get payed for it. They definitely know what they're doing! Do you think rapidly hiring new DMs is going to solve the problem? Dm Farore-Sama is already a great member of Dasaria, a great DM. But he's a human being in RL, too. DMs aren't your fairy godmother. Sometimes I think players forget that. They can't make all the stress go away in Das, and they can't do it in RL either. Nobody can. But they improvise; they just provide fun for us. They are taking time out of their day too. Getting more DMs wouldn't solve the problem. Once in a while a new DM can be a good thing, and I'm again refering to you, Dm Farore-Sama.

Don't you go critisizing the DMs! You could do no better. Or can you? Why don't you do all the work they do, to improve the server? Take time out of your day to make new quests, or new areas! Instead of demanding things, why not try to do it yourself?!

No DM on this server is a Fairy god mother or father or whatever . . . so stop expecting them to do everything for you . . .

Looking back through our module updates thread, and only going back to February of this year, we were on Module version 5-6-c.

Your post is such a slap in the face to people like Jhr4n who brought you UNIQUE features only found in Dasaria like your languages and so many other things.

If you think for a minute that we arent working to imporove your game, then man...I dont know what to f'n tell you, ok?

Crimson, don't blame the DM team because the game itself is getting older and receiving less attention. The amount of unnecissary work that is put into Dasaria by the builders and DM/GM's alike is fenominal. I don't think you realise that Dasaria doesn't -have- to exist, that Jeh at any moment could stop hosting these forums which I'm guessing (key word guessing) he hosts the brandwith using the money from his pocket, that Wyvern, J4 and the other builders could just give up on us and do something else far more meaningfull to them with their lives, within a second. But they choose not to for the sake of our entertainment, and for free for that matter.

I think they deserve a bit more respect than that.

Look at that again.. I never for once began to talk about a specific update or a date they did it.. Nor did I exactly say with proff that nothing was done... "bit of a dissapointment that LIKE 1 thing" Look at the context please I didnt mean to start a fight like this.. Hell there have been update and changes and I can name a few my self.. I was just explaining how it felt that "that like 1 thing changed over hte period of 6 months" In my frustration.

J4 Never had I labeled this one nerf as the ONE change in a 6th month period.. I wasnt even talking about it. No I dont think your a jerk and no im not going to be offended or angered by your post lol.

I know the dm's have put a alot of time into this server. but it does make me out to be a 10 year old baby who whines about anything but can I change it or would you even care..
