Kisanth you are a good man I dont doubt that. I dont condone the use of undead and I wont give Shadow a warm handshake when ever I see him. ( he's probably a bit smelly anyway )You talk of the balance, the balance is upset by Varana they have us under seige, they have our woods ( you as well Kisanth defender of the Elves ) and Shadow has half of a ruined human city and his minions of evil. Shadow will also help us destroy Varanites, why attack him? One reason religion you despise his evilness and we will all get dragged into a battle because 3 paladins ( Depheant, Kisanth and Kurich ) and Napsutes wants the whole of Dasar back. Not all of us want Shadow hung drawn and quartered, not all of us are interested in the city. As he attacked us recently no, you attack him constantly he only defends. Go on your holy crusade but I fear you may fall foul. If you lose and Nergal looks for revenge the towns folk will not be happy will they, and who will they blame. I have said my peace now and hope the council judge to keep some kind of truce.

Not many out there know my true alignment or my true felings on the followers of Nergal or Marduk, there is good reason for that, many may not like what they hear, but as a long time citizen of this fine land I beleive it is terribly important we judge a man by his actions and have tolerance for all kinds of people, and that is the stand I take in the Council, for beleive it is by far what is best for my beloved city.
The definitions themselves of "Good" and "Evil" differ GREATLY among different people. Very often ones alignment may be evil, but the actions he does may feel very very goooood.

my feelings
okee alot of people know that i as Kahvi play a good character...I always help people and i always take care of friends. But as for a holy war no way i am not involved. My god is not Marduk nor nergul but a totally diffrent diety. I am more focused on taking care of the presant threat which is the varantites. those are my enemies not eachother

These tears we cry
Are falling rain
For all the lies you told us
The hurt, the blame!
And we will weep to be so alone
We are lost
We can never go home
Are falling rain

Ye commited murder by slaying a defender of Daris, whether he be of Nergal or not is beside the point, Paladin.Tyideal wrote: I was jailed for breaking an immoral law that my conscience as well as every fiber of my being thinks is wrong. I have also been called a fallen paladin for doing so, but the way I see it evil now rules Daris and fights those who try to uphold a morally good society!
So we are good enough to assist ye in driving the forces of Varana out of the land, but we are denied entry into Daris to go about our business? Not Bearis, Peribo, Yaston or any of the long-time inhabitants of Daris has ever turned their back on us Nergal followers.Tyideal wrote: Tell me Dasarians what kind of world we live in where the followers of Nergal are greeted warmly and the good defenders of the city are nearly driven out for being "blind, reckless and narrowminded".
Very well Paladin, yer hatred shines like the bright moon in the Dark of night.Tyideal wrote: As for Drake you have your reasons for following Nergal. Our actions always have consequences and you allying with Nergal has gained you the ire of people like me.
Yet more hatred, yer heart grows darker by the hour Kisanth.Tyideal wrote: If you question why we hate you for what you are, then perhaps you need to look beyond your selfish motivations and try looking at it from our perspective of what kind of god you represent!
Aye, yer Druid friend acted as a coward and jumped Kravos from behind while it was clearly a matter that did not concern her. She lost sigh of balance and overstepped her boundaries treading into the path of Good. She will be dealt with when the time is ripe.Tyideal wrote: Did you also miss the fact that a fellow druid STOOD WITH ME and helped me strike down the evil that was Kravos and Azrael?! Narial remarked how the balance was upset and acted accordingly.
As far as Azrael is concerned, I care little. This "thing" that sees himself as immortal makes a mockery of us all. He will be dealt with soon enough.
The balance has been shifted towards Good it is a joke. Tabor indeed seems a wise man beyond his years. I applaude that.Tyideal wrote: So far all I see the high druid is sitting on his rump talking about balance and tolerance instead of acting to restore that balance! You are my friend Tabor and we have slain many enemies together, but now it is time to stand against the evil friend, worry not your actions will only help to RESTORE the balance.
Very well Paladin, ye have drawn the lines and I fer one accept them. If ye lay but one hand on any of my brothers or sisters of Nergal, I shall do everything in my vast power to bring death and utter destruction to ye and yer kind. Yer dreams will be filled with screams of anguish coming from the fools that oppose us - their lives will be taken by Nergal and they will be brought back as followers of the Dark Lord.Tyideal wrote: The minions of Nergal (and any other obviously evil people) are hereby under notice that I will do everything I can to derail your plans, plots fun gatherings and picking of flowers! You want to do business in Daris? Expect a fight, and to hell with the law that protects you! I urge the redboots and Kurich especially to stand up against this unjust law! It makes fugitives of your defenders...
May the inhabitants of Daris strive for peace and embrace the true defenders of Daris, unlike the so-called Paladin Kisanth and his followers that make outcasts of Nergal followers after they've been used against Varana.
May Nergal bless ye all.

In my initial post I never called for a holy war....and I don't know how this discussion took that route. Allow me to steer it back on track....
((I suck at "quoteing" so fill in names as you see fit.))
Someone stated I went over to Nergal for POWER and now I must constantly defend myself in the village. It sounds to me that perhaps Nergal's price for this POWER now seems to high for you....you made your choice. I hope you soon discover the error of your actions and come back over to the light...
I have never called for a "holy war". I am simply calling for the Coucil to recognise the Evil of the followers of Nergal. I can not walk unmolested to the shops in that side of the city and perchase goods, but the followers of Nergal can come to our fair village and do this...why? This does not seem like a truce to me, it seems like the conditions of our surrender...did we surrender to Nergal....I did not.
It seems our recent history has been forgotten, Nergal was allied with the Varanites, but his captain of that time spent too much energy on Varanite causes so he was struck down and Shadow was put in his place....how long before Shadow is struck down by his fickle God because he is spending too much energy on Dasarian causes....and how deep will the followers of Nergal then be in our councils...
Do we want or can we afford open war with the followers of Nergal...the answer to this I don't know. Do we want to do all in our power to keep those followers from desecrating our village most definately yes!
I've heard religious freedom bantered about....and I am all for this freedom within reason. If I start a religion tomorrow that calls for me to sacrafice a child of the villagers once a week would the Heros of this land be screaming "Leave him be, he is only worshipping his God", I think not.
The skills of a certain class have been outlawed by the coucil (thievery), doesn't that invade upon thier class freedom? Will monks be outlawed next? I don't thinks so, because of obvious arguements.
Outlaw the worship of Nergal, no...forbid it and it's followers from the village most definately yes!

As for your thievery comment, the same applies. A thief is not judged UNLESS HE STEALS!
Again, don't be so blind.

Old Dasar is hostile to you, yes. But New Dasar is hostile towards us. Daris remains Neutral to all.Berek_HalfHand wrote:I can not walk unmolested to the shops in that side of the city and perchase goods, but the followers of Nergal can come to our fair village and do this...
It seems you are the one who forgets recent history. Varana BETRAYED Nergal. Murdered its priests. Caused a direct affront to a god. Nergal demanded the Duke to leave Varana, but the Duke did not. Shadow will only be punished by our god should he go against Nergals wishes.Berek_HalfHand wrote:It seems our recent history has been forgotten, Nergal was allied with the Varanites, but his captain of that time spent too much energy on Varanite causes so he was struck down and Shadow was put in his place....how long before Shadow is struck down by his fickle God because he is spending too much energy on Dasarian causes....
To date I am yet to see any Nergalite sacrafice children, or any other person of Daris for that matter. I fail to see your point here. The Law in Daris, as I have been told, states you cannot be persecuted for your BELIEFS. Actions dictate judgement. If I killed a child in Daris for whatever the reason, rituals of my beliefs included, I would be then judged. Not before.Berek_HalfHand wrote:If I start a religion tomorrow that calls for me to sacrafice a child of the villagers once a week would the Heros of this land be screaming "Leave him be, he is only worshipping his God", I think not.

Kisanth is not a follower of Marduk.
He and Depheant are paladins of Girru.
Girru apparently wishes the destruction of nergal and all his followers.
Marduk just wants them out of Dasar, as it is a Holy Place to the God of the City.
We of Marduk (and this better include you, Napsütès!) do not oppose the followers of Nergal being in Daris peaceably. It is the followers of Girru that reek of hatred and intolerance.
Please stop blaming us.

Bolting upright, Popper realizes he's been awoken yet again by the zealots in the town square. Wiping pigeon droppings from his cloak, he rummages around in his sack.
"Ah," he sighs, "here they are." Placing the pigeon-feather earplugs snugly into his ears he drifts away peacefully.
"I do hope I dream of some tasty snacks this time. Those religious rants are so disturbing."
The candle flickers in the small warren beneath the town rock as sweet dreams of sugar plums dance in his head.

As being a new citizen to this great town, I was not present for the battle of Dasar. I also have come into service of the Redboots. I accepted the assignment of being a Guardsmen under the idea that I was going to be protecting the towns people from harm. I do not follow any diety. I am a product of nature and find relief in all that is around me. I do not have any malice against anyone based on who they worship. My main goal is to protect Daris from Varanites and also to keep the peace. I am also a Guardsmen that must follow orders. I have come to know my superiors and believe that they will not place the Redboots in any situation that would violate the beliefs as a whole. It has been said that the Redboots are against Nergal. Well it does not seem that the Redboots as a whole are, but those who's interpretation of what their God/Goddess wants. I have no grief with that. But I also to not want rampant violence in our fair town. I am hopeing that the outright verbal attacks can be brought under check so that all citizens in Daris can walk the streets and not feel that they are being judged just because they choose a different path. Please note that I will not judge people by what they believe but what their actions tell me.

Umm
I have an idea, lets all drink a lot of ale and forget the whole thing! Seriously though, being evil cannot really be outlawed, haven't you people heard of lawful evil? If anything, being chaotic would be against the law, not that I would support that either. I may not support Nergalites but if they come into town on business and break no laws I just can't see justifying them being lawfully killed or arrested just for their beliefs. That does not mean you have to like them, or that you can't keep an eye on them. But as long as they keep their evil business out of Daris it isn't the laws place to run them out or prosecute them. I am a rogue, but I do not steal from Dasarians. Would it be right for the Redboots to arrest me if I steal from someone in town? Yes of course! Would it be right for them to arrest me because sometimes I steal from people for a living? No way! Same principle really.

The Duke was a servent of Nergal. The Duke betrayed Nergal and was cast down and replaced by Shadow. The politics don't matter...the FACT is one pawn was replaced by another. How long before this pawn is cast down and replaced yet again by your God?It seems you are the one who forgets recent history. Varana BETRAYED Nergal. Murdered its priests. Caused a direct affront to a god. Nergal demanded the Duke to leave Varana, but the Duke did not. Shadow will only be punished by our god should he go against Nergals wishes.
I can not be every where at once either, however your Warlord not to long ago in these posts stated he liked the power Nergal gave him to raise undead and force them to fight at his side....This is your Warlord...What more evidence do you require? Your troops are in fact a sacrifice of people. To date I am yet to see any Nergalite sacrafice children, or any other person
Wow...what stunning wit...sharp as a razor you are! So in your next responce can I expect a "DoodyHead"?It seems to me Lawful Good has become Blind Ignorant
I don't expect conversation here in total agreement with my own view, however I do expect the absence of name calling. Although my views seem to be the complete opposite of yours. I have not even suggested that because our views are different that is shows ignorace on your part. Quite the opposite infact.
Well
This whole argument just serves to remind me why I serve no god, most of you religious folk are a bit daft it seems

But both Daris and New dasar are ours, only old dasar is yours. but a better rational is given below.Kravos wrote: ...

Given the Current situation, the Fight over Dasar I refer to, and Given that Daris is neutral, should it not work more that old dasar is hostile to ONLY Marduk followers, New Dasar is hostile to ONLY Nergal Followers, and both sides are neutral to every one else.
The war after all is between Marduk and Nergal, but the rest of us have to allow Nergal followers in town while they do not show us the same fairness.
To make an even and fair treaty non Mardukians should have free access to old dasar, and Nergalites have free access to Daris, currently the treaty stands at Us (the neutral dasarians) giving all and Nergalites giving nothing, accept they wont attack Daris, which they never planed to do anyway.
The current treaty is flawed, in a world working sence, and hence the role-play sence, because those of Daris gian nothing from it.

I find it quite odd that when one thinks of "Religious Zealot" their gaze almost immediately turns to Marduk.Brigadier Kurich e'Marduk wrote:Kisanth is not a follower of Marduk.

I need to clarify some things, because I shall not have people getting the wrong idea of why we are here.
I have arrived in Daris to fulfull Marduk's will, which is the occupation of Dasar, his city. That is all. The followers of Nergal just so happen to be the only force of resistance, which make them my enemy.
I hold no open hostility to the followers of Nergal before, nor after this affair with Dasar. Do not get me wrong, I do not agree with thier worshippings, and do not hold them in the highest regard.
But that does not justify killing them openly within the streets of Daris. Paladins of Girru can testify I myself killed another who was attacking a follower of the Dark Lord. Why? To preserve peace. I believe in Law under Marduk, as does he. There cannot be good and peace without law.
Understand this, citizens of Dasar and Daris alike. I here to reclaim Marduk's city. I am not here to annihilate evil affiliated organizations, to join in Dasaria's war against Varana, or any other reason then what my Lord Marduk has instructed me to do.
I serve Marduk, not Girru and his zealous Paladins, or Anu and his easy-to-anger Paladins.
Please, get your facts straight.
