Another 2 cents:

I'd like to see more DM Shouts.

Here is a classic example:

Food is short, disease is rife as people eat unhealthy/perished food, disease is spreading as a main story event is running - a little shout out saying "<something is happening>" will give hints to the role players to start playing hungry, weak, diseased, scared and so on..

Oh and more dice rolls, that was very fun with Horrid.

Heh, if Death appears before you, roll a 1d20, if you roll a 1, you just had a heart attack - not everyday you meet Death and he scares you to death :P

Oh and *bump* a place where us builders can upload mods for review

The wise have spoken. More wisdom lies herein and beyond.

There's a river from Dasar to the ocean and it passes by Daris right? I would like to see existing maps have areas added to them that would allow for alternate parallel paths along all routes in Dasaria. Like the alternate path to the Mountain Demon. (Never can remember that places name. *Shrug*)

Also, I would like to have what maps we currently do have exist in some form of geographic reality. If you go into the Eaves of the Baraan, go south one map to the Goblin Forest you should find yourself in the river valley to the East Seaside of Daris. This is just an example of some maps that need to be refined. Not cropped and moved just reoriented to allow for a bit more sence of proper placement. In future additions a DM could look at the size and placement of a map before it is added and see if another map would be intruded upon or needs a transition added to connect them.

Even if you can't go from one to the other completely. I have made maps where you can get to say 60 percent of a map via one access and the other has to be discovered threw another access on a different map. Some routes are impassible. This would be great, much like seeing the far side of the river and wanting to explore it, but not having a direct route is frustrating and makes me at least start to think..."Hmm, how do I get over there?"

Ramble session over.

Next!

Why horses? If we're wanting mounts, why not just ask for the GOOD ones...

Personally, I'd rather have a giffon. ;p

Heh, that'd be great watching someone try to tame a griffon. Especially when they're human. Hehehe...and no riding dogs. -.-

I read a lot of great things here, but I would like to add to the more varanites/quests thing.

First, I would like to see quests added in Raven Watch for going to Talon and completing a major Quest in that area. I know there "was" a quest in the Talon hold, but doesnt seem to be anything going on there now.

Second, I think it would be nice if Captain Notter told you where they need help in the Kingdom according to your level and the amount of quests you have completed.

IE - go to the Seaside Barraks and speak with the captain there
Go to Raven Watch and speak with (insert name)
Report to Daris and speak with the (insert name) at the Redboot Barraks

Third, I would like to see quests that are no longer in operation to either be fixed or removed from the game. Here a few that come to mind.
The Three Alters in the bottom of the V-caves.
The Scroll Retrieved from the Talon Stronghold.
The Items retrieved from the Temple of Druga.
The Chest in the Bugbear cave.

I think the chest in the bugbear cave still works. I don't know as I don't have the right type of character to complete it. Unless you are talking about the chest in the caves below the tower of Markus the wild. (did I get that right)

Less combat between the various factions present in Dasaria, and more cooperation between them against the larger evil (Varanites and the Claw). The old saying "The enemy of my enemy is my friend." comes to mind here..but with the addition of ".....if only for now."

More emphasis on crafting, such as the re-adding of lost resources from Pandemonium (diamonds/rubies/emeralds/Titanium/Admantium,etc) as well as an increase in current resources (spiders silk comes to mind. Considering all the spiders out there, only one drops any..and some items require at least three per attempt)

That'll give new focus to the server, and help everyone get back on track with the initial goal, which was defending Dasaria against Varana, in the struggle that's been going on for generations.

That is entirely up to the players. Dasaria has been, and is currently, a player driven server. As one of the main goals of Dasaria is good vs. evil, and we are a good based server, no rules stop players from being evil, or in this case working against Dasaria. The Dm Team does prefer a responsible and complimentary idea of playing evil however.

Some very successful factions and storylines have been solely tied to working with Varana, but these should not become the normal storyline for Dasarians.

On a personal note, i have long felt that factions have at times have tried to keep a 'monopoly' over a storyline or information, not sharing either here on the forums, or in RP conversations with other groups. I understand some groups have little reason to share, however most time even groups set to be 'the good guys' do not want to involve others.

The one thing *I* would want to add to Dasaria is to see groups work together. We have a wealth of information on these forums, and many do not see the point of posting a report, a comment to their own faction, or realize that many times players outside a certain clique may have the answers another group needs. If the idea of a the common good is the goal for some groups, teamwork should be utilized.

I don't think faction politics is really a focus in Dasaria anymore. The player-base just isn't geared for it.

There are some really great suggestions in here.

There was an online game a while back, think it was something to do with battletech.. anyway each skirmish effected the amount of land each faction owned in real time. OK Yeah not really possible to do this in real time for NWN, but the idea still stands. I'm not sure how much info is contained in the logs but if Nergals finish more quests than any other faction then Nergals influence grows and undead spawn instead of bugs, or if more evil aligned people complete them then more creatures spawn more frequently as their influence spreads and things become harder for the village, and if some thing is not done about it (as in the good guys dont get off there butts) and if nothing is done for long enough then an event can be heald where the good vs evil faction must face off in PvP battle for the map or even for the Village itself!

The key that you were supposed to get for that quest, and the gnome that gave out the quest have disappeared from town. Not sure what happened to him, I was still pretty new around here when that happened.

I would love to see that quest restored somehow tho'. Not sure how other people think about it however...

Wasn't it the halfling that gave it? I remember now, that quest was pretty good. Except the item in there that's shaped like a spider gives invisibilty once a day, and something else to, I think. The item you got for returning it gave some healing ability once a day...can't remember.

And I think the halfling died when we reclaimed Daris?

It would be interesting to see more items with a "local" name. Poppers rock is the only example that I have seen in game but I know that was named after a character. I remember such things from my elementary school days. There was a pit in the woods we called "The Devils Pit". Of course there were many stories about how it got that name but the real facination with it was you could take a stick and stir the leaves and trash around in it and sometimes a usefull (to a kid) item would pop up out of it. Of course it was just a pit that someone dug and over the years the older kids had tossed junk into.

I can see it now, "Nergals Hole". Stir around in the pit and you might get a dagger or a zombie might decide to pay you a visit.

Other ideas, "Executioners stump", "The hanging tree", etc.
