I remember me making a post about this on the general forum about this..
It was about a widget that was used so people (with the same subrace) could hear what someone said if he started talking in partytalk between []
Lemme search for it..

Rules without exceptions last eternally. Every move you make creates your destiny

I do agree that if you scroll up every spell then casters become useless. However, if the Raise scroll was modified to only allow Clerics to use them then only they and the Use Magic Device skilled folk could employ them. Deeta has her UMD maxed out and still fails sometimes with her scrolls, so I know I would only use them when I had to and hope *and pray* that they worked.
My point was though that some of the more basic curatives are lacking in the world. Disease is hard to remove if you can't find a cleric. I have seen folk have their party memebers kill them off just to remove a lvl drain or ability decrease. That's just insane.

Always the assassin, never the assassinated.
Way to solve that is Restoration scrolls. Not lesser, not greater (though, of course, those work too, heh), but the one in between. Does the trick.
It's not insane to have to respawn over level drain, in my opinion. Besides, you don't lose anything by being PKed anyway. So I don't quite see the problem.

Heal kits work quite well for that.Fate Aki wrote:Disease is hard to remove if you can't find a cleric.
This is not to be encouraged. If I catch people doing this, expect to lose more xp than you would have via respawning after a regular death, and the killer could probably expect an alignment whack as well if they aren't evil.Fate Aki wrote:I have seen folk have they're party memebers kill them off just to remove a lvl drain or ability decrease. Iv had the idea ever since that event with the 3 horseman... Death pestilance and someone else I think it happened Sat or something.. Poor Drevlin running out of Rez's that he dosnt have (god why am I complaining? Never felt so important
) So I thought.... Hmm wouldnt this be cool if a group of High lvl clerics to create some wands and be given off to people as gifts in the time of need... Not just anyone (not a lvl 3 having a rod of rez) but maybe the clerics themselves using them if there high lvl and no amount of umd can help you? or something. And so you know wyvern.. Not everyone is going to have a super high heal skill and even some of them my cleric has a hard time dealing with them o.O but then its always fun helping others so I do.. The effects of disease are sometimes hard to get rid of but thats where some potions of lesser restoration or antidote would be nice to buy in game.

Also broken quests be deleted.. I hate finding stuff for a quest and find out you cant even do the very first thing... None come to mind right away but it has happened to many times and im sure I can think of some later.

I am strongly against rods of ressurection, i dont give them out for events, and would say if players ever got to the point they could make them... they would be no drop, costing a good deal of gold and XP to use.
Ive watched so many high level clerics log from their alternates, to go help out a low level PC, then log back on their alternate...it has left a bad taste in my mouth.
I would rather reward the clerics who play themselves fairly and constantly, than ever allow a 'substitute cleric item' in the game. There is a point to having a useful and balanced party.

I can understand your point of view CL, but you've also goto look at it from the point of view of people that don't get the play during times when they can have a "balanced party."DM Chicken Little wrote:I am strongly against rods of ressurection, i dont give them out for events, and would say if players ever got to the point they could make them... they would be no drop, costing a good deal of gold and XP to use.

As I've stated in another post I work graveyard shift and play funky hours where 90% of the time I'm alone on the server or with one other person. I would be nice to have an item available to res a fallen comrad when there's no cleric available.
Perhaps there could be a middle ground where instead of ressurection there's like a raise dead. You still get raised, but there's a penilty involved. Kind of like the difference between raise dead and ressurection in PnP D&D. Just a thought ...
Something else I have a problem with is the need to find a trainer to level a PrC beond a certain level. With the hours I keep the odds of me contacting a PrC trainer and doing their quest or whatever has got to be almost 0 ... I respect the fact that you guys like to have trainers, but would it be possible to move them over to an NPC format so those of us that play non-peak hours have a chance to level? =)

You don't need a trainer for most PrCs anymore, do you? Weren't most of them unlocked, except the Shifter PrC?
And for the res wand.. Jeez, people. Honestly, that's just foul, heh. If you're alone on the server, adam, what you want the wand for, hmm? If you put a res wand in there, there won't be anything to grumble about, ever. And games should have some grumbles, always.
I'm with CL on this one, it's just not right.

I've been play World of Warcraft over the last few months but it's nearing time for me to return to Das
The game is absolutly brilliant but Das is my home.
But there a few ideas that I got from the game that I think would make wonderful additions to Dasaria! One of the best features of the game are the huge instance dungeons throughout the world. These require team work and smart tactics to get through. Not simple hak and slash fests.
I think that on Dasaria there should be some super hard dungeons that require more then just running through and killing randomly. The Koalisks comes close but that place can be soloed by a few smart players from specific classes (*cough* mages...) The enemies would need to be in the epics and placed cleverly throughout the dungeon. A sort of dungeon that needs a balanced party to get through, it needs very clever thinking. It need to be bloody hard and scary! Don't count on beating it it the first time you go through the place, you need to sit down and plan out your attack making sure each class in your party is doing their job!
No doubt some great loot would be behind these dungeons but that isn't the point
Now I know you may all think this sort of thing has no place in Dasaria as it is a Role Playing server, but some of my greatest RP sessions and even just random OOC late night runs have been through the tough places on this server (Trolls!).
I myself may even have a go at making some super hard dungeon, though I have no idea how to use the builder, I'm sure I could learn
Still, that's my idea, super hard dungeons that require ultimate team work and tactics

Hehe, if I'm alone I'm just out of luck, but if I'm on with one or 2 other players it would be nice. Even if the UCM req's were high enough that only rogues (bards?) can use it, it would better than nothing. It's still not going to replace clerics..Eragon wrote:You don't need a trainer for most PrCs anymore, do you? Weren't most of them unlocked, except the Shifter PrC?

In reguards to the PrC: I didn't know they were unlocked. That makes me happy =)

So you know, Crimson, it was merely a reminder that you dont always need a cleric or a scroll or a potion of restoration to fix the effects. The heal ability is a class skill to everyone, and is a perfectly viable option and was worth pointing out.And so you know wyvern.. Not everyone is going to have a super high heal skill and even some of them my cleric has a hard time dealing with them o.O

If a ship can sail to Pale Moon then could a wagon travel to Dasar? It would be a good way to eat up coin. The merchant who owns the wagon would rather be carring goods than people because he can't sell the people. (or maybe he could
) He would need to make sure that he gained a profit to replace the goods that he would not be able to carry.
