Half-Life II

Wow.

I'm playing this fantastic game now. I think it's the best FPS I have ever played, but it's also so much more than that. Has anyone else here played it?

Immersive, fluid, scary, stunningly beautiful. I highly recommend it.

never played it... probably because i never redeemed the coupon i had to get a free copy with my graphics card. I waited over a year for it to come out and then never even thought about getting it

Heh, the only experience worse than me playing a twitch game, is having to watch me play one. Truely, I am that bad

So sadly one game I'm unlikely to experience.

I try to stay away from twitch FPS type games because I suck so bad at them... If I can't turn on god mode I usually can't make it past the first couple levels .. hehe =)

I still remember the old Castle Wolfenstien, and the original Doom. Good days...Half Life II looks really intersting. Not sure if my comp can take it though.

I was playing both of those the other day ... Good times.

My favorite was the FPS Duke Nukem game. He would say "Hail to the King" and fun still like that during the game... That was high class entertainment.

Aw, can't believe I left out good'ol Duke Nukem. Any new games coming out with him?

Duke Nukem forever has been in development, well ... forever ...

It's supposed to be the next release, but they're taking so long to release it they keep having to upgrade the graphics engine to make it up-to-date. Last I heard was Bioware saying it will be released when it's finished. hehe

I play on a Counter Strike: Source server. It's fantastic for a versus FPS. No bunny hopping, wee!

You know, it probably was 3DRealms. When I think of Duke Nukem I always think of the old side to side scrolling version and I always get it confused with another game. I want to say BioMence, but I can't remember ... I always say Bioware for Duke, but I think you're right about it being 3DRealms. Sorry =)

The original Castle Wolfenstein wasn't a FPS. Neither was the sequel: Beyond Castle Wolfenstein. I remember playing them both on an Apple IIe back in the 80's...

Sure seemed like FPS to me ... I mean you're in FP view running around blasting bad guys working your way through the maps...

First time I played Wolf3d was on my parents BRAND NEW Packard Bell 386/25 with 120 meg hard drive and 2 megs of ram! Man at the time that was the fastest PC you could buy. Hehe ...

Aww, man, but bunny hopping is fun, heheh.

I was playing UT with my friend the other day, I had a blast when he started cussing at me; "Quit the bloody hopping you lamer!"
