Guards in the city

Post by Flames »

This hole guards in the city wile martial law is over is starting to make me mad.. Just a couple of days ago the guards started to attack the people in town and some of my frinds steped in to stop the madness... Yet there are to many of the guards in town so we all ofcorse got slauterd.. If there is going to be martial law i think we need to cut down on all the guards...]]

I understand the point of martial law is to have lots of guards in town but as many as there are it is insane... Me right now am an outlaw for trying to get the guards off the civilians in town... Trying to go threw town is imposible for me....

The guards have true seeing and are fairly powerfull... They are everywhere you have nowhere to run.. I am a lvl 11 sorcerer i buff fully and hast and cant make it from the farmlands to the eves...

Martial Law is over, but the decree of the Queen has made it so that the Knights of the Fist and the Redboots remain to preserve peace.

There is one simple way of not getting attacked by the Redboot Guards. One, easy and simple way. Do not perform hostile acts in town.

The guards will not randomly choose a victim and kill them. If you feel compelled to defend your friends, then do so at your own risk. The guards will seek out all violence and termianate it.

((OOC: The guards are still be tweaked and as I've been told, they are working on a better variation that will serve with a bit more intelligence. Until them, use some intelligence yourself and don't cause trouble. That is the key.))

Yes, but what im talking about is the players that want to be Kos, ((I find it alot of fun when the g'elle's attack the town and i have to defend with others to keep them out.

But it makes it no fun for me or the Kos person to attack the town when you got 30 guards chaseing you and killing you...

I find that boring to have a Npc killing the invador wile i sit there and watch. I love to interact as i know everyone elese does....

All i perpose is to cut down on the amount of guards we have in the town. I just find it more overkill than keeping the peace....))

Things are the way they are for a reason. Trust that much.

Sounds like you should speak with Raeflyn about making amends with the law if you're an outlaw.

I think what he is getting at is the fact that its impossible to do any faction vs faction raids on town with all the guards around.

In that sense the guards in town are too many but then again there is a reason for this I guess its partly to do with the enemy factions being too strong and too consistant in attacks I dont know I wasnt here.

That's because we don't want any faction v. faction raids on town. How many times do people have to be told this? The town should be a safe haven, as that is where new players start and get familiar with our server. Having PC v. PC war there only detracts from their experience and drives them away. Therefore, if you get involved in PvP in town, you WILL get targeted by the guards, regardless whether you're the agressor or the defender. End of story.

I wouldn't trust my safety to all those guards, just makes me more on edge seeing a lot more around town.

PLUS, It's so much cooler having Faction vs. Faction wars in like the eaves or the deep forest: north!

Well to stop all the violence in the village would it not be easier just to make it a non PvP area.
The guards killed me last night for attacking a KOS & yet the KOS gets away, so what is the point of making somebody KOS.
I mention it to someone & am told not to fight let guards deal with it in the meantime I am getting ten bells of XXXX knocked out of me by Rati & his crew & am supposed to stand there & take it until the guards come or after I am dead again. Yes all well & done if you say run away but that is hard to do with about 40 arrows in my back. The guards would probably kill me again just for being there anyway.

P.S. if non-outlaws are conducting war in the village- it would be a good IC thing to do to notify PC law enforcement people so they can take action.

Non-outlaws conducting war in the village is really an abuse of the game engine and the AI of the guards. In my personal opinion- its not responsibile from an RP perspective.

*ducks behind rock*

1,
I was simply clearing up what I thought he ment since it seemed to me that it was slightly misunderstood.

2,
I wasnt here for all the build up to these issues neither was I around to take part in them, soooo I guess that means I only need telling once which was just there.

3,
I would actually agree with that policy in the main town especially perhaps in the seaside district things could be slightly different but the big boys and girls have plenty of places to play without putting new comers off.
